The temple of roo

Plot info:

Erick says, "Need... I need... a carved oaken staff... from the giants who roam the plains to the south of the Desert of Roo. And... and a headpiece... one of the Jewels of Power, to... to sit atop the staff... and one last thing. An ancient artifact... the Coruscating Gem... to focus the power and create the final... the final staff. Seek the archmagus here... he has... he has the gem."

Now that you have ruined the ruins , its time to proceed to the next part of your journey, the Temple of Roo.

If you haven't upgraded your armour, go to swamp edge city and upgrade them. The monsters you meet on the way are very weak so you might want to sneak there. Here are the items you need:

I recommend you the Shield, as the ingredients are slightly easier to find, and can reflect back normal damage, unlike the Sorcerers Robe, which does nothing. All items here can be found in the Desert of Roo. When you've got your new shield, head over to the Plains of Roo and get a Carved Oaken Staff from the Plains Grarrl there. Having done that, you are now ready to proceed to the Temple of Roo...

Level 1

The monsters on the path to the room of the temple on level 1 are just plain weak. Though, if you don't have at least 1 glowing stone you can pick up one from the golems there, and they are generous with them. You might want to sneak through the whole path and get to the actual temple. It's a huge maze, so train until you are at least level 28 before going to the level 2. And remember to pick up a piece of living crystal from the crystal golems there.

Level 2

Ok, this is where you really train. You have to go to each room on this floor, get a key from the special monsters there until you have the last key, which is the key to the room in which the Archmagus of Roo is making some pretty green light. If you don't know what I'm talking about, then go to this site's map of the Temple and you will know.

Be sure to level up to at least level 29 before you get into the first room, which contains a Ghastly Initiate.

Don't worry, just because they are special doesn't make them any stronger than any other ordinary monsters. Level up to 29 before you go into the 2nd room, which contains A Ghastly Adept.

Ah, you can see a pattern here do you? The quality of the keys goes up as you move on to the next room (If you don't know, this is the order: Copper, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and lastly Crystalline). Be sure that your is level on par or greater than the special monsters you meet in the rooms. And yes, you can meet more than 1 of them, but don't destroy the keys you get from them just for fun, as I believe that they are rarer than those ordinary monsters. And remember to get an Emerald from the ghosts there.

Archmagus of Roo

Now that you have the key to the room of the Archmagus. It is time to level up to level 32 or 33 (33 on evil, 34 on insane) if you still have not done so as the monsters in this room are the strongest in the whole temple. Once you have done that, get ready to rumble with the Archmagus (and hopefully he'll break some bones).

He isn't a former member of the Circle of Twelve for nothing. Even after all these years, he can still stun for 3 rounds, do 50 fire damage, do 50 ice damage, drain you of 50 life, heal himself of 80 health (or is it 70?). He also has 200 hp and is at level 31 but can hit and evade like a level 32.

Never let your health drop below 85, as he can handle that out. Also, don't be too stingy on using your healing potions as you can replenish them in the Techo Caves. Always use Absorption whenever you can. And you should turn him into Blumaroo Steak (Yum!).

New Weapon

You now have the Clouded Gem, given by the Archmagus. Now, step into the teleporter and you will end up at the entrance of the Temple. Go to the mad rabbit (Erick), give him the Clouded Gem and Abracadabra, he cleanses it and it becomes the Coruscating Gem. Now head over to Leiboras. First give him your piece of living crystal and he will talk, then give him a glowing stone, a tiny beryl and and Emerald and tada! It becomes the Growing Jewel. Head back to Erick and give him your Carved Oaken Staff, the Growing Jewel and the Coruscating gem and yes, you have your life staff, which can heal you with Spirit of Growth for a massive 100hp! It is a castable spell and you can use it once every 10 rounds (I think so...)

Ok, you have defeated the Temple of Roo! You have your Life Staff equipped and you are ready to go to the Techo Mountain Caves. The next part of my guide will take you through the Techo Caves and Mountain Fortress, where you receive your last and most powerful armour and weapon upgrade. Bye for now!
